Memphis Native Serves Aboard Nuclear-Powered Aircraft Carrier

“NORFOLK, Va. – A Memphis, Tennessee, native is serving aboard one of the world’s largest warships, the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69).

Command Master Chief Petty Officer Quentin Newsom, a 1997 Central High School graduate, joined the Navy 20 years ago.

‘I joined the Navy to serve my country because I always wanted to join in and serve,’ said Newsom.”
