“At around 12:00 pm Horn Lake officers were dispatched to the Amazon Warehouse located at 1615 Commerce Parkway for a report of shots fired immediately followed by reports of a subject with a gunshot wound,” the Horn Lake Police Department said in a statement on Facebook.

The woman was shot three times. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Horn Lake Police told television station WREG the shooting scene was outside of the warehouse.

“I came outside on my lunch break and literally heard shooting gunshots and I didn’t really see anything per day but I mean there were quite a few gunshots that went off and next thing you know I’m hearing from coworkers and whatnot there is a young lady dead in the parking lot,” an Amazon employee told the television station.

At around 3:20 p.m. Memphis police were attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the suspect near Whitten Road and I-40.

The gunman exchanged gunfire with officers and was killed on the scene. No officers were injured.

Authorities have not released the name of the suspect or the victim.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is handling the incident.

Commander Chuck, in The Mighty 990 Traffic Center, says rush hour traffic is backed up for miles.
