The final stage of the multi-million dollar One Beale project was announced this week and it is expected to change the Memphis skyline.

Plans for a 20-story Grand Hyatt hotel were unveiled in downtown. The $200 million hotel will include hundreds of guest rooms, restaurants and a massive spa.

”It will be a city really coming into its own,” One Beale developer Chance Carlisle told television station WMC. “A generational project that’s taken maybe two generations to see through. But it’s coming right at the right time for what Memphis needs to take the next step forward as a city and to become the regional powerhouse that we aspire to be.”

The stunning building design was unveiled on the rooftop deck of the all-knew Hyatt Centric, a recently completed part of the One Beale project.

“I’ve never once heard ‘Please don’t give me a river view or restaurant river view,’” Carlisle said of the pent-up demand for high-end, riverfront hotels, restaurants, apartments and meeting space.

Construction is expected to begin in early 2022.
