Most criminals spend their time trying to evade prison. Well, 20-year-old Demarkus Davis begged to be taken back over the weekend.
Davis had escaped custody during the severe winter weather that swept through Memphis over the past few days. To get out of the cold, however, Davis turned himself back in just under an hour later. He asked a civilian to call local police around 10 p.m. Sunday evening.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported that Davis is charged with one count of escape and two counts of rape of a child.
