Pastor Jeff Patrick, the Transient Program Pastor at the Memphis Union Mission, joined “Wake Up Memphis” with Ben Deeter to talk about the influx of homeless men seeking shelter with frigid temperatures sweeping across the Mid-South.

The shelter has provided a place for men living on the street to sleep, as well as receive a few hot meals. In addition, they share the Word of God with them during their stay.

With temperatures dipping and icy weather blanketing the city, the Memphis Union Mission’s intake has only grown in number.

“Last night we had 352 men staying here at our men’s emergency shelter,” Patrick said, “and what changes about that is, of course, there’s more men, but because they can’t go out and go to work like they normally do, those guys all had breakfast here today, which usually half of them don’t.”

Patrick asked for food donations to help feed those seeking shelter. You can make a donation here.
