A Memphis math teacher got her chance to win big bucks on the nationally televised Wheel of Fortune this week, but it ended with a viral mistake.
Contestant Whitney’s earnings were up to $6,500 when one wrong guess ended her winning streak.
She was competing in the category “On the Map” and failed to solve the puzzle for “International Date Line.” Instead of the correct answer, contestant Whitney guessed the answer was “International Gate Line.”“International Gate Line” ? pic.twitter.com/Hl3ZAesaeY

“Maybe it was stage fright, or she was simply thinking of a departure gate at an airport,” one person said.
Nevertheless, Whitney got to represent the Bluff City on the big stage:GOOD LUCK WHITNEY! This Memphian is competing on Wheel of Fortune tonight on Action News 5! ?? pic.twitter.com/sm1ZfuYO8U
