If you are going to carry firearms, then it’s a whole lot more than just buying a gun, Tom Gresham, host of Gun Talk Radio, told “Wake Up Memphis” Tuesday.
With the recent story of the attempted kidnapping of a woman in Saddle Creek, women in particular are considering owning and even carrying firearms for the out of control crime.
Gresham noted it isn’t as simple as buying a gun and keeping it in the purse or glove compartment.Owning a firearm requires immense training and being conscious of every action in public like setting a purse down just for a moment, which as he notes is a major “no-no”.
“If you decide to carry a gun for self-defense, this is a major life-style change,” he said. “You have to commit to it fully… I believe personally, you have to carry all the time. There are no good parts of town, the bad guys are coming to us everywhere.”
