Memphis Zoo Panda, on Loan from China, Dies Suddenly

The Memphis Zoo announced the sudden death of Giant panda “Le Le” Friday morning, leaving employees stunned.

The 25-year-old panda was part of a loan from China two decades ago.

Last December, it was announced the two pandas would return to China as the deal is expiring.

In the zoo’s social media post, the beloved panda was described as “an easy-going personality and was a favorite of all who met and worked with him over the years.”

It’s been revealed the cause of death is unknown, and the zoo is set to hold a press conference at 11 A.M. today.
