DEVELOPING STORY: The Germantown water crisis is having a significant impact on the services provided by Methodist Hospital, KWAM News has learned.

“To minimize the impact of the current water situation in Germantown, Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown is taking precautions to ensure the well-being of our patients, including diverting some patients to nearby hospitals,” a hospital spokesperson told KWAM.

The hospital has also decided to delay some medical procedures. They are also distributing bottled water throughout the facility.

Residents have been ordered not to drink or utilize water for any purpose other than flushing toilets.

City leaders allege that 100 gallons of diesel accidentally leaked into the water supply sometime on Thursday due to a power outage.

KWAM will have full coverage of the crisis beginning at 7 a.m. on Wake Up Memphis. Listen at AM 990, FM 107.9 or click here to download our free app.
