As the summer approaches, events planned to take place in June and July of 2020 are now in question.

Most people are thinking of cancelling concerts, weddings and sporting events this summer. One event that was unexpectedly cancelled was the Midsouth Airshow scheduled for June 20-21, 2020.

The website states the event features “military demonstrations, aerobatic performances, static display aircraft, and local emergency response helicopters.”

Fox News 13 Memphis reported that this decision was based on the guidance to suspend or cancel any large events.

Those who have already bought tickets have been reassured that they will receive a refund.

The show has not been given an alternative later date for 2020, so it might not be until next year that the helicopters and aircrafts take to the skies again for the Midsouth Airshow.

The cancellation of this June event could become a model for other events in the surrounding area.

With the cancellation of this event and the postponement of events like Memphis in May, it is shaping up to be a quiet summer in the Memphis area.
