People need to hear some good news these days and we happen to have the best news to share this weekend, East Acres Baptist Church Pastor Richard Hamlet told “Wake Up Memphis” Friday.
The Millington Good News Festival is a free family-friendly event that will be Saturday from noon – 3 p.m. beside USA Stadium in Millington with live Christian music, free food, and a kids zone.
Enjoy FREE family fun, food, and entertainment at this outdoor festival! The whole community is invited for live music and BMX bike shows, hot dogs and snow cones, face painting and bounce houses, giveaways and, of course, Good News!

Their only mission for the festival is to share the story of Jesus with the community. Pastor Hamlet says having events like this is important because it brings people to them that wouldn’t normally go to church.
“I believe that God is working, and he’s working through the faithful witness of his people who are sharing the good news that Jesus Christ is the one ruling and reigning,” told KWAM host Todd Starnes. “Even though the earthly situation looks dim, we are to love one another. There’s hope in the Gospel.”
