University of Memphis students recieved a disturbing email Friday morning from school officials, alerting them of a kidnapping that occurred near campus.
Memphis police say Eliza Fletcher, 34, was jogging in the area of Central and Zach Curlin near the university just after 4 AM when someone forced her into an SUV.

A missing person report was made to the Memphis Police Department this morning, September 2, 2022 at 7:00 AM. A woman who regularly runs on Central Avenue was reported missing after not returning home. Her cell phone and water bottle were discovered in front of a house in the 3800 block of Central that is owned by the University. A male approached her at approximately 4:30 AM in the middle of Central Avenue and appeared to leave with her in an unknown vehicle following a brief struggle.The University Police Department is assisting the Memphis Police Department in investigating this incident.
