Martin Luther King Jr. Day is on Monday and the National Civil Rights Museum is offering you and your family free admission to the museum to celebrate his life and legacy.

President Ronald Reagan signed the King Holiday Bill into law in 1983 which was first nationally celebrated in 1986.

The National Civil Rights Museum is the home of the Lorraine Motel, the infamous inn where King was fatally shot in 1968.

The museum will be open from 8am until 6pm. Although admission is free, they are asking for guests to bring a couple of canned goods to support the Mid-South Food Bank.
