UPDATE: A man, identified as 42-year-old Jose Murillo Salgado of Bartlett, Tennessee, was arrested by Arkansas State Police in Hope, Arkansas Thursday afternoon.
A mother and son are dead Thursday morning after being stabbed in North Memphis.Memphis police said they found 43-year-old Claudia Nunez dead at the scene and 14-year-old Kevin Nunez in critical condition.
Kevin was rushed to LeBonheur, where he was pronounced dead.
“Preliminary info indicates that the suspect is known to both victims,” police said.Family members told WREG that the mother’s ex-boyfriend is responsible for the double murder as he was released from jail on Monday.
They noted that her other two children were also home at the time, but not harmed.
