My Town Miracles Making Christmas Special for Memphis Youth

Whitney Williams, executive director of My Town Miracles, told “Wake Up Memphis” Thursday about the different opportunities available to help Memphis youth this Christmas.

“Everyone has a different need and everyone’s needs can be met in different ways,” she said. “Our mission and purpose is to come alongside families and meet whatever challenge they’re facing at that time.”

Williams noted much of their work is also through other partnering organizations.

She mentioned organizations off the top of her head like Memphis Athletic Ministries, Streets Ministries, Icon Ministries, Red Door Urban Missions, Red Zone Ministries and Le Bonheur that stretch across the city meeting needs.

“In naming those six right there, we just went from Binghampton to North Memphis, South Memphis, Orange Mound, Parkway Village and back to downtown,” she said.

Williams encouraged listeners to participate in their Orange Mound Christmas Initiative which is an opportunity for locals to financially support a child or even a families’ gift wish list.
