Here’s everything going on in the Mid-South:

  • Illegal immigrants are being housed in the old Tennessee Temple dorms in Chattanooga. Reports these are unaccompanied children will not be attending the public schools. Roughly 100 teenagers are being housed at these dorms for allegedly just 30 days. There’s no word what will happen to these children if their families aren’t found within the month.

 

  • Memphis Police Director Mike Rallings officially retires today, and Mike Ryall will takes his place in the interim while the new replacement is selected. Rallings is retiring after serving 31 years, including just over five years as Memphis’ director.

 

  • Memphis Police are investigating details of a deadly shooting in Fox Meadows last night. Two people were found dead at the scene close to one another, one at the 5300 block of Knight Arnold and the other at 5315 Knight Arnold.

 

  • The Shelby County Health Department’s new directive allows the reopening of buffets, and indoor dancing with six feet of separation. Also, parties up to 500 don’t need to be submitted to local authorities.
