Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South today:
- School is back in session for many places in the Mid-South, and that includes fall sports. WMC Action News 5 sports reporter Cassie Carlson spoke with Robyn Walensky on ‘Wake Up Memphis.’ “They’re doing full-contact practice,” Carlson tells Walensky, “they go get water, and coaches are screaming ‘6 feet! 6 feet!’ The coaches are wearing masks, they’re required to do temperature checks and everything along those lines. They’re trying to limit fans at these games, so they’re going through the measures, and I think the bottom line is that these coaches and players, they want to play, but whether it’s safe or not I think that is yet to be found out.”
- Now, mailboxes are no longer safe from vandalism. When a woman went to the Whitehaven post office last weekend, she found it completely shut. I guess that birthday card will have to wait.
- Grammy award winner music producer Boo Mitchel says he is thankful for all the support he and his family have received following the shooting of his son, Elijah Lewis, in Cordova. Glenn Smith has been charged with attempted second-degree murder.
