Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South:
- Starting today Shelby County businesses will be fined $50 when customers are caught not wearing a face mask. Health department officials will be starting to make their rounds today, watching for any violations, and businesses could be closed for at least two weeks if they don’t follow the mask ordinance.
- Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant suffered an ankle injury in the game yesterday against the Brooklyn Nets. Morant left the game in a wheelchair and is undergoing an MRI as quickly as Tuesday.
- Multiple cars were broken into overnight at the Nike facility over in Frayser. An estimated 20 cars were damaged, and police were initially called to the scene after shots had been fired. Investigation is still ongoing, and Wake Up Memphis will keep you updated.
- Memphis Police responded to a shooting off of Shelby and Hodge late Monday evening, where the victim had been driving when shots were fired by an unknown suspect.
