Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South:
- The coronavirus vaccine will be distributed through local Walmart stores starting today by appointment only. Around 11 Walmart locations in the Shelby County area will be distributing the vaccine. Over 62,000 doses have been administered so far in the area.
- Memphis Police are investigating a shooting on East Mclemore Avenue Tuesday evening in South Memphis. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, and the suspect was last seen in a white sedan.
- The Shelby County Health Department reported they are investigating a possible case of what they’re calling the UK variant of COVID-19 in the county. They received word Monday night that a coronavirus test was performed and the results show there might be a case of the variant, which is being said to be 3 times more contagious.
- One person died in a crash involving half a dozen vehicles Tuesday afternoon at Getwell and Arrowhead around 3 PM. The cause of the crash in Parkway Village is still under investigation, and four people were transported to the hospital in non-critical condition.

The Memphis City Council passed a resolution Tuesday evening to support the approval of funds for a Group Violence Intervention Program. Mayor Jim Strickland wants to appoint a full-time staff to work with the program.
