Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South:

  • A new set of appointments for the coronavirus vaccines begins this Tuesday in Shelby County. Statewide, case numbers have dropped by two thirds in the last month. The local health department is advising people to get their second dose quickly after the first. Some people were turned away by mistake on Friday as they tried to get their second shot at the Pipkin Building.

 

  • Memphis Police and Shelby County deputies are investigating several shootings that resulted in two dead and one injured Sunday. someone was even dropped off fighting for their life at the fire station on Getwell after being shot.

 

  • Desoto County Deputy Austin Eldridge was hit on I-269 when he was helping someone with a flat tire.  Both of his legs were injured in the crash and he was airlifted to a Memphis hospital. To help Deputy Eldridge and his family, check out the GoFundMe page.
