Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South:
- Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris announced the launch of an online waiting list portal for the coronavirus vaccine called VaxQueue. As that announcement came, reports have come out saying many Memphis residents are frustrated after waiting for their scheduled appointment only to be told the location ran out of vaccines.
- A suspect is still on the run after a shooting at South Memphis near Crump Boulevard last night around 10 pm that left one victim dead. Police say it all started with a disagreement that ended up turning violent. A separate incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when a man was shot near Chelsea Avenue and later passed away. No arrests have been made.
- During the Memphis City Council’s meeting last night, they considered a proposal that would ban the sale of pets at retail pet stores in the area…This consideration came up as Petland, a national pet store chain, announced it has plans to open on North Germantown Parkway. The first reading of the proposal will be next week.
