Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South:

 

  • The Shelby County Health Department is making some crucial changes to help cut down on wait time for the coronavirus vaccine…Many Memphians have even arrived for their scheduled appointment only to be told the location was out of doses. Shelby County is rescheduling some appointments and cutting down on the appointments per day.

 

  • Memphis Police are investigating a shooting at a local motel that happened overnight. Police were called to the scene around 3 am this morning over at Memory Lane Inn and Suites off of Elvis Presley Boulevard. Also, officers responded to another shooting off of Winchester. They arrested two suspects and one victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police are saying these two calls are related.

 

  • The CDC announced that it is safe for schools to open up if there are proper precautions this week. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has called for Shelby County Schools to reopen in two weeks.The only two areas in the entire state to still be virtual are Nashville metro schools and here in Shelby County.
