Here’s everything you need to know going on in the Mid-South today:
- The remainder of Shelby County Schools are returning to classrooms today for the first time since the pandemic started. Shelby County reports that 30 percent of students opted to return to school in person while the others continue virtually.
- A judge has issued a temporary restraining order against the TSSAA and Arlington Community Schools for the high school girls basketball team. The team was put on probation and ordered to pay a fine after an assault on an opponent’s coach by the Arlington coach’s son. It’s unknown if any girls were directly involved yet.
- Memphis Police are investigating a suspicious package call on Walker Avenue near the University of Memphis late Sunday evening. Officers are on the scene to determine what the item is, and no injuries have been reported.
