Nike announced plans to host a “queer youth field day” in Memphis for people between the ages of 13 and 25.
Nike approached OUTMEMPHIS in 2018 and pitched the idea of hosting a recreational event field day for Queer youth and allies, where people wouldn’t be divided into “boys and girls” teams, and with everything being gender-neutral and inclusive, Memphis Flyer reported.“Just a safe and affirming day for people to come out and enjoy the weather together,” a spokesperson told the publication.
Nike recently came under fire after they partnered with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney to promote a line of women’s tights and sports bras.
Many biological females burned their bras in protest – pointing out that Mr. Mulvaney is a man and therefore has no boobs.
“I’m sorry, Dylan doesn’t have breasts,” my former Fox colleague Megyn Kelly said in a recent podcast. “Dylan’s been taking some sort of a hormone that has turned Dylan into some … I don’t know what’s happening there, but those are not breasts. And Dylan doesn’t need any sort of a bra — never mind a sports bra.”Although, an argument could be made that Mulvaney is in fact a boob.
Meanwhile, back in Memphis, it’s not clear what sort of activities the children will engage in. However, one must assume there will be plenty of balls to kick around at “queer youth field day.”
