A Memphis carjacker picked the wrong day to steal a car.
Memphis Police say the carjacker stole a Chevy Trailblazer in Berclair.Officers tracked down the stolen vehicle and gave chase. The suspect bailed out of the vehicle on Eastern Drive and fired a shot at one of the officer.
The officer returned fire, striking the suspect.
The unidentified Hispanic man is being treated at Regional One Hospital. He’s in non-critical condition.
“It’s just too bad that all carjackings don’t end like this,” said KWAM host Todd Starnes. “If the criminal thugs knew they were going to end up at Regional One, maybe they would think twice before stealing our cars.”
