KWAM, the Mighty 990, has become the Mid-South’s number one news-talk radio station on social media.

The all-new, locally-owned and operated radio station crushed its competition, 600 WREC, owned by iHeartRadio – based in New York City.

In less than six months KWAM accumulated more than 20,000 Facebook followers. WREC, which has been in the radio market for decades, only has 3,300 followers.

KWAM also scored big numbers on Facebook’s engagement platform — with more than 25,000 engagement, compared to WREC’s paltry 531.

One of the reasons for the massive growth at KWAM is authenticity. Our staff lives and works in the Mid-South.

Tim Van Horn, Kenny Bosak and Grace Baker are longtime Memphians who care about this city.

We have a vested interest in helping to grow local businesses. We really do want to make Memphis great again.

That comes across on our daily broadcasts. We care about the people who listen to our radio station.

Thank you for making KWAM the number one radio station on social media in the Mid-South!
