Wednesday was redemption night for Grizzlies star Ja Morant as he returned to the court for the first time since March 3 to turn a new page.

This was evident by the hoodies sported by his father Tee Morant and daughter Kaari that was printed with just one word: “redemption.”

Coming off the controversial videos shared on his social media page that resulted in an 8-game suspension, the superstar point guard came off the bench and was met with a standing ovation.

There was no doubt the city stood with Morant. They had his back all the way.

And without wasting any time, Morant had a little welcome-back gift for the fans.

Morant finished the game with 17 points in the 130-125 win over the Houston Rockets.

That win propelled the Grizzlies further past the neck-and-neck battle for the No. 2 seed against the Sacramento Kings in the western conference.

Not only did Morant deliver with substance and style, but they also came out with the crucial victory.

It’s hard to put into words exactly how electric the Forum was last night, but I’m sure Kaari can think of a few.
