A man reportedly threatened to blow up supporters of former President Donald Trump across the Mid-South, according to an “Officer Safety Bulletin” posted to social media Wednesday.

Political commentator and host of Louder with Crowder podcast Steven Crowder posted the memo, which revealed a man texted his mother and said he had “been thinking an awful lot about rigging my van and bombing Trump supporters.”

KWAM will not be naming the suspect.

The Tennessee Office of Homeland Security released the following statement to KWAM:

“On March 1, 2024, The Tennessee Office of Homeland Security issued an officer safety bulletin to Tennessee and surrounding states’ law enforcement agencies based on information provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Memphis Field Office regarding Benjamin Dayton. Recently, law enforcement agencies in Arkansas made contact with Mr. Dayton and the bulletin was allowed to expire. Please contact the Arkansas State Police or the FBI in Arkansas for further information.”

The post, shared first by Crowder, said the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Memphis obtained more information on the suspect, who had “several addresses associated with him in the Memphis/Shelby County area.”

MPD told KWAM they have no knowledge of this individual and the local FBI field office declined to comment.
