Rose Unleashes on Blackburn’s ‘Marsha Meltdown’

“Tennessee voters deserve to hear from Senator Blackburn, but she has dodged them at every step. John Rose has been holding town hall meetings and has agreed to do debates. Tennesseans deserve a Governor who will listen to their concerns and articulate a vision for the state,” said Chris Devaney, Chairman of the John Rose for Governor campaign.

On the other hand, Rose has refused to debate State Rep. Monty Fritts. Rose made his opinion on that known during an interview on KWAM Radio.

Nashville News Channel 5 reporter Ben Hall confronted Blackburn following an event last week. After repeated questions, Blackburn could not articulate any real answers after being asked simple questions, such as why she refuses to debate or meet with Tennessee voters.

Republican John Rose has held over 45 town halls in the last two months. The town halls are part of Rose’s Tennessee True Tour during which he is traveling across the state hosting voters at publicly advertised, free events.

On July 10, Rose will participate in a candidate forum sponsored by the East Tennessee Young Republicans in Knoxville. Marsha Blackburn did not accept the invitation. News Channel 5 has also announced a televised debate. Rose has accepted that invitation as well.

Rose responded to the importance of a debate in an August 15, 2025 interview with Ben Hall saying, “The people of Tennessee deserve to know: ‘Why does she want to be Governor?’ I think debates would be the way to get at that.”
