SEVERE WEATHER ALERT: Mid-South Bracing For Damaging Winds, Tornadoes

DEVELOPING STORY: The National Weather Service says there is an elevated risk of severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes beginning Friday afternoon.

The most likely time for severe weather is Friday night into Saturday morning. However, the National Weather Service says there is potential for some super cells to develop during Friday afternoon.

“Our primary concerns are damaging winds and tornadoes,” the NWS said. There is also the potential for large hail and heavy rains.

The Storm Prediction Center says the severe threat should be concluded by Saturday afternoon.
