State Sen. Brent Taylor Announces Run For Congress

DEVELOPING STORY: State Sen. Brent Taylor announced exclusively to The Todd Starnes Show on KWAM News Radio that he will run for the U.S. Congress in the newly created Ninth Congressional District. Taylor made the announcement official just moments after the Tennessee Senate voted to approve a redistricting plan that will put Memphis into three congressional districts.

“I am thrilled to announce my campaign to represent Middle and West Tennessee in Washington and fight to cement Tennessee’s conservative legacy for generations to come,” Taylor told The Todd Starnes Radio Show. “Tennessee’s new congressional map has created an opportunity to deliver another strong Republican voice to Congress and secure a brighter, safer, and more conservative future for our state and our country, and I’m ready to be that leader.”

“In the State Senate, I have been on the front lines of fighting for the people of Memphis and Shelby County. I’ve worked alongside President Trump, the Memphis Safe Task Force, Senator Blackburn, and Senator Hagerty to crack down on violent crime, arrest dangerous criminals, protect our children, and rid our streets of illegal aliens,” he added.

“For far too long, Memphians have been forced to watch as a soft-on-crime Soros-backed District Attorney allowed our community to be terrorized by criminals. Meanwhile, woke Justin Pearson and weak Steve Cohen have incited the radical liberals who have attempted to destroy Memphis. As your Congressman, I will continue to fight every single day to ensure the liberals’ harmful, negligent policies never take root in Tennessee.
