Minneapolis-based Target announced today the closure of 14 stores across the city – in response to last night’s violent protests.
“We are heartbroken by the death of George Floyd and the pain it is causing our community. At this time, we have made the decision to close a number of our stores until further notice. Our focus will remain on our team members’ safety and helping our community heal,” the company said in a statement.The Lake Street Target was nearly destroyed by rioters – who pillaged and plundered nearly the entire store. An untold number of thieves were spotted running out of Target with clothes, groceries and flat screen television sets.
