TN Speaker Of The House Cameron Sexton
Last week the Shelby County Health Department issued an indoor mask mandate for all K-12, Pre-K and daycare students, staff, and visitors. Speaker Sexton spoke out against this, threatening to push for a special session of the General Assembly. The Nashville school district also instituted a mask mandate of its own.
Today, Speaker Sexton told Tim that he would be talking with Governor Bill Lee and Lt. Governor Randy McNally about moving forward with a special session. Governor Bill Lee has indicated he is not a definite “yes” to call for one. Sexton elaborates on whether he thinks Lee and McNally will actually call a special session and if so, when.
Cameron Sexton also talked about Governor Lee’s controversial Executive Order 83. Tim also asked Sexton about his visit to west Tennessee to discuss truth in sentencing.
