Tennessee Legislators Looking To Take Away Parental Medical Consent

Tennessee REPUBLICAN legislators are working on TWO bills which would allow medical professionals to inject your kids without your consent or knowledge!

Both bills seem innocent, but the devil is in the details of amendments filed later.

House Bill 0946 and its companion Senate Bill 0148 amendment allows “certain healthcare officers and providers licensed in this state to provide consultation, examination, diagnosis or treatment to a minor to prevent STDs, without the knowledge or consent of the parents of the minors.” It is sponsored by Republican State Rep Bob Ramsey & State Senator Richard Briggs.

The House Bill 2032 / Senate Bill 2026 amendment would also authorize Dentists (yes DENTISTS!) to administer the HPV vaccine. The bill is sponsored by Republican State Rep and Dentist Bob Ramsey as well as State Senator Bill Powers.
