Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley joined “Wake Up Memphis” to talk about his county is handling criminals and to weigh on on Shelby County’s skyrocketing crime.
Besides having a good relationship with the community, Sheriff Beasley pointed out his county’s tough-on-criminals approach has kept his county safe.
“Like I said, if you’re going to bring your stupid crimes to us,” Beasley told KWAM, “we’re going to play the stupid games with you and we’re going to give you stupid prizes.”Beasley also said he’s seen on his social media more posts of Memphians moving out of Shelby County than in previous years.
“It’s no secret, you look at the crime stats, Memphis is crime-ridden right now,” he said.
He added that Memphis Police are “fed up with it as anyone else.”
