State Rep. John Gillespie is begging Memphis Mayor Paul Young to do something about the out-of-control crime plaguing the city.
Gillespie sent the new mayor a letter, urging Young to his administration to “uphold and enforce” the laws on the books.
“Lawlessness has crippled our city and left the people of Memphis feeling increasingly vulnerable and unsafe as they go about their daily lives,” the Republican lawmaker wrote. “Our families, our schools and business owners are being held hostage by the constant threat of violence with no end in sight.”Read Gillepsie’s full letter below:
