Tennessee Governor Republican Bill Lee joins ‘Wake Up Memphis’ with Robyn Walensky to discuss the upcoming general election in just 41 days, as well as President Trump’s possible list of Conservative female nominees to fill the seat of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who passed away from cancer Friday at the age of 87.

“We absolutely should fulfill the process that’s outlined in the constitution and nominate and vote on and appoint a new justice” without delay, Lee tells ‘Wake Up Memphis.’

“I’m not as concerned about the candidate,” Lee tells Walensky, “because I know President Trump will bring forth a multitude of folks that’ll be strong options.”

One of the reasons many Republicans and Conservatives here in Tennessee voted for Trump in 2016 is that he would appoint judges that share their values, Governor Lee points out.

The governor tells Walensky the nominee mentioned most often, Amy Coney Barrett, would “certainly fulfill what President Trump believes is appropriate on the bench.”
