On the first night of the jamboree a teenager armed with a loaded handgun ran across the field during the middle of a scrimmage. That teen was arrested by Memphis Police.

On Friday night hundreds of terrified fans stampeded out of the stadium after someone reported guns had been fired. It turned out to be a large fight.

“This is what happens when you live in a city controlled by progressives who are soft-on-crime and soft-on-parenting,” said KWAM radio host Todd Starnes. His program airs at 11 a.m. on The Mighty 990.

Video shows fans screaming and tumbling down bleachers trying to get to safety.

“It’s just sad that shooting always have to go down at Crump stadium,” one worried mom wrote on Facebook.

Memphians say they are disgusted by the rise in violent crime – in a city that is controlled by progressive, soft-on-crime Democrats.

“Stop blaming these kids and start blaming these trifling parents,” another parent wrote on Facebook. “I know what my kids are doing at all times.”

Said another, “We need to get a hold in our kids before the streets do. I hate that it is not safe for our kids to even go to a football game and be kids. This is our new generation that we are raising. Because our kids are a representation and reflection of us.”

Memphis-Shelby County Schools did not comment on the chaos or the calls from parents to do a better job providing security at football games.
