Looking for an indoor activity this weekend to stay out of the winter chill? Well, Youth Villages in Memphis has you covered.

They’re hosting their 34th annual Soup Sunday at The Kent next Sunday.

Katie Jones, Director of Development for Youth Villages, joined “Wake Up Memphis” with Ben Deeter to preview the event.

Soup Sunday will feature 20 Mid-South vendors with a range of dishes (including soup, of course) and will include local cocktails from Old Dominick Distillery and locally crafted beer from Grind City Brewery.

“We are so grateful for our restaurants who give us all of their food and services in kind, meaning they charge us nothing,” Jones said.

The event benefits Youth Villages’ mentorship program that works with over 200 kids in the Memphis area.

“We are always in need of mentors,” Jones said. “We have a waiting list for our kids who want mentors.”
