BREAKING NEWS: Memphis Police say at least one person was shot and killed at the Kroger Fueling Center on Poplar Avenue.

Fox 13 reports there was some sort of an argument over loud music before shots rang out.

“Several witnesses have told me the shooter is wearing security apparel,” Fox 13 journalist Jeremy Pierre wrote on Twitter. “Not clear if the man worked security for Kroger or happened to be off duty. Witnesses also say the shooting happened in front of the victim’s mother and sister.”

Last year, a motorist shot and killed a 16-year-old carjacker and wounded an accomplice at the same Kroger Fueling Center.

An arrest affidavit filed in the case says the vehicle owner, Terry Thompson, told police that an assailant pointed a gun at him during the incident and that he opened fire in return. An attorney for Thompson described it as a matter of self-defense, the Commercial Appeal reported at the time.

The shooting was justified, according to authorities.
