“After testing negative for COVID-a9 on Monday during her regular testing cadence, the First Lady began to develop cold-like symptoms late in the evening. She tested negative again on a rapid antigen test, but a PCR test came back positive,” Elizabeth Alexander, the first lady’s communications director, said in a statement.

“The First Lady is double-vaccinated, twice boosted, and only experiencing mild symptoms,” Alexander said.

Mrs. Biden has been prescribed Paxlovid, which President Biden also had when he had COVID recently.

She will isolate for at least five days per CDC guidance.

The Bidens family vacation caught headlines after disgraced first son Hunter Biden joined the Bidens just days after former President Trump was raided by the FBI.
