Memphis Democrats took the major races in Shelby County’s election Thursday night. See the full results below:
Rep. David Kustoff (R-TN) won Tennessee’s Republican District 8 congressional race Thursday, the KWAM Decision Desk projects. Click here to read the full story.The Daily Memphian reports that election day turnout was estimated at around 40,000, which is less than half of early voting turnout. If those estimates turn out to be accurate, it doesn’t look good for Republicans in the major races.

The KWAM Decision Desk projected that state Rep. Tom Leatherwood beat Lee Mills in the Tennessee House District 99 Republican primary race.
The KWAM Decision Desk projected that Brent Taylor (R) won the Tennessee senate district 31 Republican primary race and will face off against Ruby Powell-Dennis (D) in November.
The KWAM Decision Desk projected that Dr. Frederick Tappan (R) won the Tennessee senate district 33 Republican primary race.
