Mayoral hopeful Jennings Bernard told KWAM Friday that racism has infected the Memphis Police Department.
His comments a day after the Department of Justice launched an investigation into the Memphis Police Department over racial profiling.
“[Racism] isn’t just a problem in MPD, it’s a problem in Memphis,” Bernard told “Wake Up Memphis” hosts Todd Starnes and Ben Deeter.Jennings Bernard, who’s running for #Memphis mayor, told @Mighty990KWAM that MPD has a racism problem. Starnes pushed back, asking Bernard to back up the claims against MPD with data.
