Beloved Memphis chief meteorologist Joey Sulipeck won’t be reporting the weather any longer at FOX13.

According to a Daily Memphian report, TV staffers were told Sulipeck would not be returning to his post, and a chief meteorologist position is now open on job hiring site, LinkedIn.

Local Pastor: Don’t Cancel The Weatherman, Cancel The REPORTER!

The meteorologist came under fire in May after he posted a tweet following Game 3 of the Memphis Grizzlies’ playoff series against Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green.

Sulipeck tweeted:

“And chew on this: Draymond runs his knuckle-dragging open mouth ALL GAME LONG, but mild-mannered Kyle Anderson disputes one call and gets ejected?  Next level jackassery.”

“Commercial Appeal reporter Evan Barnes launched what would become a national protest against the beloved weather man.

“Emotions are high right now among teams and fans over the play in question but this right here?
@joeysulipeck—unacceptable,” Barnes tweeted in response. “Memo to @FOX13Memphis—talk to your mans and check him. This is over the line and I won’t stand for it. This is bullsh-t.”

Fox 13 took Sulipeck off the air while station higher-ups launched a “full investigation.”

National radio host Todd Starnes blasted Fox’s decision — calling Sulipeck a victim of the cancel culture mob.

“It appears that Joey’s only crime was having the wrong skin color and chromosomes,” said Starnes. “Anyone who’s watched 30 seconds of Draymond Green playing on the court knows exactly what Joey was talking about.”

Thousands of viewers came to Sulipeck’s defense, but their pleas to keep him on the air fell on deaf ears.

“The management at FOX13 should be ashamed,” Starnes said. “Next level jackassery.”
