Sen. Blackburn Slams ‘Socialist Three’ Member Challenging Her Senate Seat

Incumbent Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has a new opponent in next year’s race, but she’s still prepared to “protect Tennessee.”

State Rep. Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville) declared her campaign for the 2024 U.S. Senate race. If she clears the primary, she’ll attempt to unseat Blackburn, who has held the office since 2019.

“Well, we’ve got the ‘Socialist three’ as I call them,” she told KWAM’s “Wake Up Memphis.”

Blackburn criticized Johnson, saying she is a “socialist” that would open up the southern border and support gender mutilation.

“This is out of step with Tennessee values,” she continued.
