KWAM host Todd Starnes criticized Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy’s new review board investigating officer-involved shootings.

Starnes told “Wake Up Memphis” it was “nonsense.”

“My question to Mulroy is ‘What exactly is there to investigate here, are you telling me officer should just stand there and take bullets?'” Starnes asked. “How about a review board to investigate thug-involved shootings?”

Mulroy told reporters over the weekend, “Anytime that the police use deadly force, that raises issues… I’m concerned about it, think it’s a shame there’s been a spike.”

His statements follow a bloody stretch of violence in the Bluff City as 14 people were shot this weekend.

On Friday evening, a Memphis police officer shot and killed a suspect who opened fire on them. The officer was not injured.
