WATCH: Students Topple Thomas Jefferson Statue in Oregon

A statue of Thomas Jefferson was toppled at Jefferson High School in Portland, Oregon.

Television station KOMO reports the statue was found lying on the ground near the high school’s track. The words “slave owner” were spray-painted on its base.

Video posted on Twitter shows several dozen vandals using ropes to pull down the statue. At least one person took a hammer and pounded the statue.

Statues honoring and memorializing the Founding Fathers have become popular targets of leftists who are determined to eradicate any part of American history they find to be offensive.

Best-selling author Todd Starnes warned Americans that such a day would come when “culture jihadists” who topple statues, ban books, burn paintings and silence any dissenting opinions.

In Philadelphia, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier of the Revolutionary War was desecrated and in Chicago, a statue of George Washington was defaced and vandalized.
