One post from the Memphis Holler calling out Governor Bill Lee for having blood on hands. If you need anymore reason to #BeatBillLee may this be the nail in the coffin.
This is not hopeful. It’s hateful.
He has not prayed. He has preyed.
It is not thoughtful. It is treacherous.
It is not supportive. It’s suppressive.
Lives will be lost because of this. #VoteHimOut https://t.co/o2Z5aEm8VD— The Memphis Holler (@MemphisHoller) June 24, 2022
Even many of our local city leaders like Shelby County Commissioner Tami Sawyer is using the latest decision to overturn as yet another reason why America and its institutions are wrong.
Like many women, I have had an abortion. That’s not your business. It’s mine.

That choice changed the trajectory of my life. I hate that today many women who find themselves needing to make the same choice will be w/o safe options. The Supreme Court is wrong. America is wrong.
Shelby County District Attorney candidate released his official statement bashing current District Attorney Amy Weirich and noting that this is a sad day.
Democrats in Tennessee are already calling this a direct assault to Tennesseans rights. They tweeted out their full press release shortly after the overturning.“This is a sad day. The politicized right-wing Court goes out of its way to overturn half a century of precedent, with women as the victims. As District Attorney, I’ll be very different from Amy Weirich.
“Weirich’s party and Donald Trump want her to turn her attention away from prosecuting violent crime and prosecute women and their doctors. We need to be focusing on carjackings, murders, domestic violence–not jailing doctors helping women make reproductive choices.”

A State Senator for the Volunteer State details how dumbfounded she is that in 30 days, abortion will illegal in Tennessee.
I never thought in my lifetime that I would witness such a dramatic rollback of women’s rights.
I’m honestly in shock. Devastated. Furious. Livid. Incredibly sad. Exhausted.
And scared for women in states like #Tennessee where abortion will be illegal in the next 30 days.

State Representative Gloria Johnson she is ready to fight back against women not having equal rights.
Been waking up every SCOTUS day to see if I am still a full human person w/equal rights. It’s 2022, and for the first time SCOTUS has taken away rights and deemed women are not equal. I wondered how it would feel. It’s not good, but give me 10 minutes and I’ll be ready to fight.
