With the crime rate soaring in Memphis and with a need for hundreds of more police officers, Senate candidate (R) Jon Henry tells Wake Up Memphis’ with Robyn Walensky there’s an easy way to recruit fine men and women to join the department, and that is to look to retired military personnel.

“I see a lot of military folks when they get out to join local police departments, I believe it’s the first place to look. These folks are already trained, and already want to serve,” Henry tells Walensky.

Henry served 27 years in the Marines and says his campaign is focusing on the importance of national security, a secure border, 2nd Amendment rights,   and education.

When asked about Mainstream Media bias and the coronavirus pandemic, the candidate tells ‘Wake Up Memphis’ the Mainstream Media uses scare tactics.

“When the media controls the narrative, science is out the window,” he says.
