It was yet another deadly weekend in Memphis.
“It’s just another day in a city controlled by Democrats,” one outraged citizen wrote on Facebook.At least nine people were shot and two people were killed in violent attacks across the city.
The deadliest involved an early Sunday morning shooting on Interstate 240. Gunmen opened fire on a car killing one person and injuring three others. The occupants were reportedly members of a band who were on their way home after performing a gig. The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down for nearly four hours as investigators collected evidence.
Elsewhere, a man was critically wounded in downtown on South Front Street. He was dropped off at the hospital by a motorist driving a grey sedan.
At 7:08 pm, officers responded to a shooting at 6019 Whisper Valley Dr. Two male victims were located. Victim #1 was pronounced dead at the scene, and victim #2 was xported to ROH in critical condition. The known male suspect fled in a silver SUV. On Friday two men were found with bullet wounds on Whisper Valley Drive. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other is in critical condition at Regional One Hospital.
At 2:03 pm, officers responded to the 1600 blk of Foster Ave regarding a shooting. Officers located and transported one victim non-critical to ROH.
